Asset Description
Cairnhold is a Celtic-inspired uncial font written with a broad pen and rounded, bulging strokes. The uncial A with its looped bowl, the three-stem M and the curved W come straight from old manuscripts, and the stems end in small wedges and teardrop terminals.
The rest of the alphabet keeps a sturdy, very readable shape, so whole sentences work, not only titles. It feels warm and ancient rather than gothic: no spikes and no thorns, just solid round letters.
Reading Comfort
Unlike spiky medieval faces, Cairnhold is solid and round, so it also works for a short paragraph: a map legend, a quest text or the back of a tavern menu. Keep the line short (about 40 to 60 characters) and the size at 18 px or more.
The three-stem M and the looped A are the most recognisable letters. A title that contains them, like Mistmoor Abbey, shows off the uncial style best.
