Asset Description
Hexrend is an aggressive dark fantasy font cut from straight facets instead of curves. The O, C and G are octagons, every letter leans forward, and jagged spikes split off the corners of E, K, R and W like fragments of a broken blade.
The weight is heavy and the skeleton stays plain, so a name set in Hexrend reads instantly on a title screen, a thumbnail or a patch. It works best short and loud: a game logo, a boss name, a band title.
Using Hexrend Well
Hexrend is built for impact, not for paragraphs. Set the name in capitals, keep it to one or two words and make it big. The forward slant already gives motion, so avoid italics or extra skew.
On dark red, black or smoky backgrounds the angular cuts read like broken metal. Add a hard drop shadow if the title sits on a detailed illustration; soft glows make the spikes look blurry.
