Asset Description
Thornfall is a medieval fantasy font with heavy, carved strokes and small thorns that grow out of the curves and serifs. It feels like lettering cut into the gate of an old keep: dark, sharp and a little dangerous.
Under the thorns sits a classic roman skeleton, so whole words stay readable. That makes Thornfall a dark fantasy font you can use for a full game title, a guild name or a book cover, not only for a single drop cap.
Setting Thornfall
- Caps for logos, mixed case for titles. The thorns are strongest on the capitals; a guild name in all caps looks like a carved gate sign.
- Give it room. The spurs reach past the letter edges, so add a little letter spacing above 120 px.
- Two colors are enough. Bone white on a dark red or iron grey background shows the thorns best; thin outlines make them blur.
